Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk, an acclaimed actress, director, producer, educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna recalls her mother's work and attending play rehearsals. Silk featured in a number of commercials while she was young. Silk completed her studies at St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least two early productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career after moving to Toronto the Canadian city of Toronto in November of 1999. After that, she relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of the decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an acting workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. After getting engaged in 2008, they married in the year 2009. When she converted to Judaism and they renewed their wedding vows at the Jewish ceremony on the 10th of April 2011.
