Luciana was born at home in Rome through her father and mother. Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian Army officer, and her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was at one time Benito Mussolini's lover's wives. It is not known if she has any siblings. Luciana is the only woman who graduated from her high school class in Milan. Luciana also studied nautical engineering at the time. Within two years she began modeling. After a while, she got a chance to appear in Three Coins in the Fountain when she was in Rome visiting a friend of her father. Brett Halsey was the first man she married. He is an actor. They made Return to the Peyton Palace in 1960 following their married. The couple had a son named Charles born on 13 June 1961 but divorced a year after his birth and Luciana was given custody. Luciana was in a relationship for a long time with Tony Athony. He was an actor and film producer. Tony was inspired by Luciana's role in Green Slime to create the Spaghetti Western.
